Jason Hann Bio
Jason Hann is an accomplished percussionist/drummer who
has been playing professionally since the age of 12. Growing up in Miami,
Florida, he was exposed early to international music through his father,
who is also a musician, and embraced his Colombian heritage through
his mother. Music has taken him around the world, studying first hand
in countries such as Mali, Ghana, Haiti, and Korea, both learning and
performing folkloric and contemporary music of the land. A dynamic performer,
Jason has also toured and recorded internationally within many different
genres of music including Rock, R&B, Pop, Jazz, Latin, Latin-Jazz,
Flamenco, African, Persian, Electronica, Techno and World music. The

with Vinx. Appearance in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame clip with Isaac
Hayes.
2003 highlights included U.S. tours with Isaac Hayes.
Multiple tours throughout Mexico and U.S. with Sony Latin artist, Marisela.
U.S. and Canada tours with Persian artist Mansour. Recording with composer
John Nau on "Wild Things 2" for Sony Tri-Star and Brian Hughes'
CD "Along the Way" for A440 records. Performing in Chicago
with Les Nubians and Vinx project. Playing sold out shows at Universal
Amphitheatre, Los Angeles (Marisela) and The Greek Theatre, Los Angeles
(Mansour).
2004 highlights include multiple tours with Vinx (also
Andrew Daniels-percussion and Sekou Torbert-tap dancer) in U.S. and
France. Capitol Records artist Adam Cohen releases CD "Melancolista".
Teaching percussion workshops and performing for 2 weeks in Bordeaux
for their annual Carnival (Musique de Nuit). Release of instructional
Video/DVD with Guinean dancer Abdoulaye Camara and Nikola Clay. Drum
section for the video is Me (djembe), Brenda Hann (doundouns), and Bill
Meinerding (djembe). Tour dates with String Cheese Incident across U.S.
including the Fall tour and New Year's Eve at Radio City Music Hall.
Recorded with String Cheese Incident in Boulder, Colorado. Sold out
show with Persian artist, Dariush, at Universal Amphitheatre, Los Angeles.

2005 highlights include Winter, Summer (Big Summer
Classic), Japan, and Fall tours with String Cheese Incident. New Years
Eve run in San Francisco with String Cheese Incident. Recorded with

Video shoot and Canadian shows wiith Loreena McKinnett. U.S. shows with
Isaac Hayes. Played percussion on the Bernie Mac/ Ashton Kutcher movie
"Guess Who" for composer John Murphy. Producing, composing,
and playing on "African Dream" CD for Sounds True Records.Release

2006 highlights include Jam Cruise with Remarkable
Elba Kramer. Received the Rob Wasserman Golden Mic Award. Release of
EOTO’s debut CD “Elephants Only Talk Occasionally”.
Release of "African Dream" CD for Sounds True Records. Release
of 2nd self-produced West African dance rhythms CD, “Yamama”.
Composed some music on "Journey of a Lifetime" for the Travel
Channel. DJ/live drum looping set with my wife Brenda (bellydancing)
for Billy Nershi's Honkytonk Homeslice festival in Jackson, WY. Performances
in West Africa (Ghana and Sierra Leone) with Vinx and Native Vibe. EOTO
debut tour through the Southeast Shows with Vinx which included a sit
in by Herbie Hancock in Los Angeles. U.S. shows with Isaac Hayes.World
dance track "Brasilero" licensed for Shiva Rea DVD. Performance
with African superstar Baaba Maal in Colorado. Musical Director and
writer for Eric Paskel’s yoga video “X-Flowsion”.
Performed on Abdoulaye Camara’s DVD “West African Dance:
Volume 2”. EOTO "snowed in" set with Steve Kimock and
Jamie Janover (Zilla).
2007 highlights include String Cheese Incident’s
“Sea of Dreams” New Year’s show. Played at Festival
in the Dessert in Essakane, Mali (north of Timbuctou), West Africa with
Chris Berry (Pangea), Michael Kang (SCI), and David Pransky (Toubab
Krewe). . Studied and played with musicians from Bamako, Mali. EOTO
multiple tours throughout the U.S. Co-wrote song “Boul Baye Kou”
with African star Youssou N’Dour and American singer Ashley Maher
for his new CD. String Cheese Incident’s 5 day Winter Carnival
festival. String Cheese Incident’s Summer U.S. tour which included
a 4 night finale (3 nights sold out) at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
Composed songs “Rakandao”, “Braseleiro”, and
“Afronaut” released on Shaman’s Dream CD “Dance
